“You’re trying to be God!”
My challenge to you this week:
Ask people in your sphere of influence, “Who makes the rules in your life?”
The masses today, to include Christians, will ignorantly answer, “I do.” The translation? “You’re trying to be God.” Audibly convey and confront this reality to them. Watch their jaws drop in shock, and then watch them quickly try to deny it with, “No! I’m not trying to be God!” This is your opportunity to explain to these people, “If God doesn’t make the rules in your life, and you do, then you’re god.” Ask these people:
- Seriously, do you care what God has to say about issues we face today?
- Seriously, do you even know what God says about these things?
- Do you want to know?
Share with folks, that without God – to include His written Word – we are left to “be like god.” (Genesis 3:22) Dr. Ravi Zacharias said that one interpretation of this passage is that man has become like God, in that man must now act like God, and from within himself, determine good from evil.
Today, as we increasingly and flippantly dismiss and disregard God, we ignorantly leave ourselves alone to define our meaning, dignity, identity, and value, and consequently we leave ourselves emptier than before. Just how appealing and wondrous can our conclusions and interpretations of life and meaning be?
Understand that the moment we refuse and reject God, or take Him out of our lives (our marriages, our homes, and societies), we have to attempt to be god. And how’s that working out for us?
Look and point to heaven and declare, “Thy will be done!” (Mt 6:10)
Agree with us in Prayer for:
a. Our rent issue is rearing it’s ugly head again. The property manager (Hiroshi) has told me that I have ’til June, or he’s taking us to court. Please pray for a fair compromise in rent price. Our current building is extremely old and worth approximately $800 a month for rent.
b. For the Brig/Prison: I continue to ask God for all the souls in the Brig… even the Guards. Pray for the inmates, guards, and their families. Bind up spirits of bitterness, unforgiveness, shame, condemnation, and pride. And loose a spirit of salvation, discipleship, forgiveness, exposure, healing, deliverance, peace, and restoration!
c. For continued increase at ZCDC (Churchplant). Pray for permanent personnel. We also need mature, qualified families to co-labor with us in the northern-most, remote area of Okinawa.
d. For Zebulun Worship Team. We need a Leader, Singers, and Musicians.
e. For our Believers, that they walk in increased discernment, wisdom, maturity, power, and that they are properly discipled, and that they bear much Kingdom fruit!
f. Pray against retaliatory, unclean spirits (on base and off base). Bind up demonic spirits of lust, division, strife, envy, competition, and fear. And loose a spirit of unity, peace, love, and faith among Believers.
f. For our current schedule, i.e. finances, resources, wisdom, strategies, and strength:
– Sun: Share/Report Christians In Action ministries
– Mon: Radical & Relevant (R&R) @7pm
– Wed: Brig Christian Fellowship (BCF) @7pm
– Thu: Publish Think On These Things Newsletters
– Thu: Publish YouTube Videos (Channel: YahwehHasASon)
– Fri: Sxxual Integrity & Restoration (SIR) @9am
– Sat:Zebulun Christian Discipleship Center (ZCDC) @6pm
In closing…
Saints, again we thank you for your prayers. With the completion of the ARMS medical mission, we came back to Okinawa and hit the ground running.
At a minimum, I minister at 4-5 different outreaches every week – week in, week out. It’s taxing, but I’ve been gifted by God to penetrate hearts, souls, and issues rapidly. I had one dear pastor actually witness me engage a stranger, and within ninety seconds, this stranger was confessing to me some sexual secrets and wounds. The pastor simply noted, “God opens doors for you quickly.”
Honestly, we can use your help. With all the Kingdom work we’re involved in here on a daily, you can partner with us (Php 4:17) through your financial gifts and contributions, thereby “storing up treasures in heaven.” (Mt 6:20) Donations can be made online through Christians In Action. Or, you can mail contributions to the address listed below.
I declare that through Christ, God has given you the privilege and authority as an apostle to tell Gentiles everywhere what God has done for them, so that they will believe and obey Him, bringing glory to His name! (Rom 1:5)
