Bowdownfoo is Nick’s banner over it all, from Okinawa’s prisons to its chapels, streets to screens. Straight outta Snoop Dogg’s old-school bars—“bow down, fool” in that Death Row grit—he flipped it holy: a street-smart dare to drop the ego and kneel to the real King. The ministry exists to make disciples fast and send them out as laborers, no matter the cost, lawsuits, protester neighbors, or cancelled chapel access. Nick and Sandy keep charging, proving that faith plus action equals lives eternally changed.

Pastor Nick & Sandy

Nick and Sandy have been married since 1986, celebrating 37 years of covenant faithfulness. Nick is a retired Marine with 22 years of service, including a combat tour. They arrived in Okinawa in 1998 while he was still on active duty, and something shifted. The humid air rushed in when the plane doors opened, but for Nick, it felt like a holy wind.

He had been saved and born again on June 10, 1990, but faith had been lukewarm. Okinawa changed that. No more sports, no more distractions. He surrendered fully, and God clicked everything into place. "Make disciples quickly" became their call—raw, urgent, no fluff.

Sandy has been Nick’s anchor through it all. Together, they founded Bowdownfoo Ministries as a Christian discipleship center in Okinawa. It’s not a club—it’s a training ground where souls are caught where they are—stuck in traffic, wrestling family, battling doubt—and released stronger, equipped to make disciples who make disciples.

Their Ministry: Discipleship, Family, and Faithful Steps
