“Democrats are at war with Christianity!”

The mid-term election is upon us and while Christianity is openly attacked, some Believers genuinely want to know, “Should Christians be involved with politics?”

Over the years, I’ve caught a lot of flak from Christians (Care to guess which Party they’re with?) who confront me and try to correct me with, “You’re supposed to be a missionary and a pastor, therefore, you need to stay out of politics,” and, “Choose one ”” pastor or political pundit ”” ‘cause you can’t be both.” I also had one friend say to me on the phone, “I may have to withdraw my financial support for you if you continue.” To which I replied, “Thy money perish with thee.”

So, should Christians be involved in politics? Let me rephrase this question to better field an answer. “Today, are elected and appointed officials opposing basic Christians/conservative values?” Of course they are!

“Simple Questions” from Mario Murillo  (I added a few of my own.)

Who fights to stop prayer in schools? Who has attacked Christmas? Who always bans manger scenes? Who is constantly trying to get rid of Crosses? Who tries to ban Bibles? Who booed God at their convention? Who sued to put Christian bakers out of business? Who sued to force Nuns to violate their beliefs? Who wants certain Christian doctrine banned as hate speech? Who said the church must evolve? Who said that religious beliefs must be changed? Who worked to ban Christian clubs on campus? Between the two major Parties, which one owned slaves? Which Party birthed the KKK? Which Party instituted every, single Jim Crow law? Which Party fights vehemently for murdering unborn children? Which Party created Planned Parenthood? Which Party used the IRS to target Christian organizations? Which Party overwhelmingly supports legalizing marijuana? Which Party promotes, endorses, and supports same-sex marriage? Which Party rainbow-colored the White House in honor of same-sex marriage?

The answer is obvious and should be quite illuminating. The Democratic Party is anti-Christian! And, if you call yourself a Christian, but you still vote Democrat, there is a huge disconnect between godly, biblical truths and your vote. And, don’t give me that baloney, “Republicans are just as bad.” The GOP has their godless issues, however, 1) Between the two Parties, where godlessness is concerned, the difference is glaring, and 2) Discussion about the GOP’s foolish ways are a different conversation.

“This mid-term election is solely about the kind of nation you want your family to live in. Do you want freedom of religion or government openly hostile to your faith? Your commitment to Christ should come before your race and gender. This is not a left-right or conservative-liberal debate. This is totally a case of…are you pro or anti Christian? We didn’t make it that way, they did. The Democrats are at war with Christianity.” ”” Mario Murillo

Bottom line: If you’re a Christian, I highly encourage you to vote. Also know that you can, and should, honor God with your vote.
