“America is Good!”

“Happy ‘Independence’ Day!”
———-
And honestly, we would do well to remember — to recall — what this “Independence” is all about. Independence from whom? Independence from what? Independence for what?

First, I must address the naysayers and critics. I know you’re there reading… prejudiced, and carelessly already objecting this matter. You’ve bought into the lies and, consequently, your heart has become calloused. Humble yourself before the Lord and ask Him to show you His design and intentions for America.

Current biases and narrow-minded criticisms of America: “America is evil! America is racist! America was built on the backs of slaves! America stole the land from the Indians! White privilege!”

Counter-Questions for thought:
1. Did God have a hand in the formation of America?
2. Did God have a purpose for America?
3. Did Mark 16:15 include America?
4. Did Acts 1:8 include America?
5. Was Christopher Columbus a Christian? Does it matter? (Columbus was on a mission for the Lord. Are you?)
6. Did the Indians need salvation through Christ?
7. Many Indian tribes performed human sacrifices. Civilized? Acceptable?
8. Many Indian tribes participated in cannibalism. Civilized? Acceptable?
9. If whites stole the land, who did the Indians get the land from?
10. Were Blacks the only slaves in America?
11. Did Blacks own slaves?
12. Which people-group overwhelmingly lived and died America to end slavery in America?
13. Did Indians own slaves?
14. Was slavery unique only to America?
15. Ever heard of William Bradford?
16. Do you know about Jonathan Edwards?
17. Throughout history, how was every nation formed?
18. Are there ANY positives in the founding of America?
19. Name any other country built on the premise that man would be free to govern himself with God. (I’ll wait.)
20. Name one other country that you can immigrate to and have that country confer upon you their national identity, i.e., make you Japanese, British, African, Arabic, Spanish, French, etc. (This concept is unique to America!)

The Hand of God on this Nation
———-
America was born in the heat of revival… and I believe, in great part, that it started because the people coming to these shores had to exercise uncommon faith to do so. Imagine the faith required to leave your family, country, and all that you knew behind… sail across greatly uncharted, dangerous seas, arrive in a dark, unforgiving continent, and build from scratch a new home, family, and life there. (It’s sad to admit that today, most Americans do not possess anywhere near that kind of faith in God, yet these same faithless people are generally the loudest critics of His wonderful nation.) The level of faith required for a venture like this is worth appreciating. Faith of this caliber pleases God.

– And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him. (Heb 11:6 NIV)

I can imagine God’s approving smile upon these people as they set out, seeking Him, fearing Him, obeying Him, and depending wholly upon Him. It is impossible for people carrying the faith of Christ in their hearts, to not also carry the presence of the Holy Spirit! Their enormous faith set the stage for legitimate waves of revival. This season inevitably produced men and women of great character because they experienced God, knew God, acknowledged God, feared God, trusted God, exercised full dependence on God, and most importantly, were willing to obey God! (Ps 33:12; Pro 14:34; 2Chron 7:14)

America, regardless of what you’ve been told and how you feel, was birthed by the hand of God. She still has a divine mission and timeless ideals. She will not fail because God is the Author and Finisher of her faith! I find great comfort in remembering that God promises to finish the work He started. (Read Heb 12:2 and Php 1:6) Providence created America! Therefore, if your beliefs, ideologies, and philosophies about America do not include the Word of God, this is a form of godlessness and you are part of the problem. I illustrate it like this:

▪ History + God’s Word = Truth
▪ History – God’s Word = Lies

Be forewarned that your off-target energies and efforts will be sifted and revealed for what they truly are — cancerous. Repent now!

Sadly, one-sided, prejudiced, anti-American rhetoric and ideology is flooding our classrooms and campuses (Pre-school through Post-Doctorate). Frequently, I meet middle-school and high-school minorities that have been taught to believe that America is racist, was built on the backs of slaves, and stole the land from the Indians. At the same time, white middle-schoolers and high-schoolers are bullied and made to feel ashamed and apologetic just for being white.

Presently, we literally have an entire generation of people that have been brainwashed into thinking these poisonous claims about our history, anthem, flag, fathers, and holidays are true. Such wickedness! Liberal/Progressive lies have succeeded in making Americans embarrassed of our God-ordained nation. Repent, now!

“Freedom” Properly Defined
———-
I submit that the core of our problem is American’s really have it too easy. As such, we take for granted America’s abundance, comfort, ease, opportunities, and safety. Honestly…

– We’ve forgotten what lack really is.
– We’ve forgotten what danger really is.
– We’ve forgotten what discomfort really is.
– We’ve forgotten what persecution really is.
– We’ve forgotten what hard work really is.
– We’ve forgotten that only hard work produces appreciation of freedom and understanding of freedom.
– We’ve forgotten what faith in God really is.

Therefore, we foolishly conclude, times are so good that we don’t really need faith or God. In this disconnect, we’ve developed a warped understanding of freedom. Today, the masses incorrectly assume that “freedom is the ability to do whatever I want, whenever I want to do it.” This is childish and it’s actually a definition of _flesh_.

Freedom is NOT the ability to do whatever you want, whenever you want. True freedom is “the ability to do what is right.” To that end, God alone determines what is right. (Read Isaiah 45:19)

Because of our abundance, to a large degree, Americans are soft. Many have it so easy, that they actually have to manufacture crisis in their lives to counter their guilty consciences. (This is why so many are easily offended.) These snowflakes begin to look for a cause to join in an attempt to give their empty lives meaning. These people find movements that require little sacrifice and less intelligence. They scream, “Gender Equality! BLM! Racism! Pro-Choice! Check your white privilege! Remove the offensive statues! Police brutality! No borders! Gay pride! Save the planet!” (Sigh. What a waste.)

Pray this now (audibly) over America:
———-
– I declare that America knows that (Ps 33:12) “Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, the people whom He has chosen for His own inheritance.” (Pro 14:34) America proclaims that righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a disgrace to any people. (2Ch 7:14) America also knows that if God’s people, who are called by His Name, would humble themselves and pray and seek His face and turn from their wicked ways, that God will listen from heaven and He will forgive their sins and restore their land.
– I declare the boldness of the Lord on America, so she warns people to (Mt 3:8) prove by the way they live that they have repented of their sins and turned to God. (1Jn 1:9) America reminds people that if they confess their sins to God, He is faithful and just to forgive their sins, and to cleanse them from all wickedness.
– I declare that since (Rom 5:1) America has been made right in God’s sight by faith, America has peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for her. (vs.2)
– Because of America’s faith, Christ has brought her into this place of undeserved privilege where she now stands, and America confidently and joyfully looks forward to sharing God’s glory. (vs.3) America rejoices, too, when she run into problems and trials, for America knows that they help her develop endurance. (vs.4) And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens America’s confident hope of salvation. (vs.5) And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For America knows how dearly God loves her, because He has given America the Holy Spirit to fill her heart with His love.
– I declare that (Rom 8:18) America considers that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed in her. America knows (2Cor 12:9) God’s grace is sufficient for her, for God’s power is made perfect in America’s weakness. Therefore, America will boast all the more gladly of her weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon her. (vs.10) For the sake of Christ, then, America is content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when America is weak, then she is strong.
– I declare that (2Cor 13:5) America examines herself to see if her faith is genuine. America tests herself. Surely America knows that Jesus Christ is among her; if not, America will have failed the test of genuine faith. (Jas 1:2) So, America considers it pure joy whenever she faces trials of many kinds, (vs.3) because America knows that the testing of her faith produces perseverance. (vs.4) America lets perseverance finish its work so that she may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. I declare that (Heb 12:2) America will always looks to Jesus, who is the Author and Finisher of her faith! In Jesus’ name, amen!

God bless America!

In Closing…scan0009

Saints, we continue to covet your prayers. They make a difference! Please keep praying.

Sandy and I remain committed to an uncommon calling, addressing atypical topics, and using unconventional methods. Often times, I may come off as angry or hostile. I pray that folks understand that I have a fierce love and a fathering-spirit that compels me to be blunt and direct.

I know what’s coming… and I know what’s at stake — souls of men and women. So I intentionally engage and confront people quickly.

We continue to need your help. Living as full-time missionaries in Japan is extremely expensive and we simply need your financial support to press on. Please be confident in knowing that we make disciples, quickly. So, whenever your sow into these ministries, you become a benefactor of the Kingdom fruit being harvested here, and “Much fruit abounds to your account.” (Php 4:17)

Monetary gifts and contributions can be made online at Christians In Action. Or, you can mail donations to the address listed below.

I declare that your trials show that your faith is genuine, and that it is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold, though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. Your faith will remain strong through many trials, and it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world! (1Pe 1:7)
