America, we have a brat infestation!
Brats. We’ve all seen them. Spoiled children who get mad, whine, and cry when they don’t get their way. (See example – short video) When told “No” or “Playtime is over,” they scream and fall out in a temper tantrum because they want the world to know that they’re angry and they have demands! They became brats because someone, somewhere repeatedly appeased and rewarded their inferior behavior. They were taught — programmed, really — to refuse and resist correction, and they were given permission to be intolerant of others and the rules because, after all, the rules and standards don’t apply to them. And now, there’s no reasoning with them.
The creation of a brat is not a complex issue. All a parent has to do is repeatedly give in to the whiny child’s demands. And, since it’s easier to give in to the deviant child rather than correct and manage proper behavior, viola, a brat is formed. Have you ever noticed that a newborn baby quickly learns that crying gets attention? Even at that infantile stage, the child concludes that “Wahhh = Reward.” I’ve often witnessed children in a hissy fit begin to cough, then exaggerate their coughing as if choking to death, simply because it gets attention. (Generally speaking, moms are huge suckers for this, but that’s another observation, another conversation.) Simply, rewarding fleshly behavior produces a brat — someone who frequently whines, complains, and uses threats to get their way. And since they’ve had just about everything handed to them, the brat can never truly appreciate any thing because he/she never had to work very hard for any thing. And, something that isn’t earned can never be fully appreciated.
I think we’d all agree that giving a child everything is counter-productive. This doesn’t foster appreciation, hard work, or faith, for that matter. On the contrary, it fosters depreciation and laziness. If this sounds familiar, it’s because yesterday’s “brat-children” are today’s “brat-adults,” and presently in America, we have a brat infestation. A generation of brats, full of themselves, self-centered, self-absorbed, narrow-minded, untested, weak, lazy, and grossly uneducated. Also, because they’ve never been challenged, they lack the ability for critical thinking. They have a deeply ingrained entitlement mentality and, truth be told, they overwhelmingly identify with Liberalism, Progressivism, and Socialism. Basically and fundamentally, they are Democrats. (Yes, I said it. And if you don’t see this, I’m fairly certain that you’re part of the problem.)
Increasingly today, I see clowns (liberal brats) post things on Facebook supporting “Free College Tuition, Free Homes, Free Jobs, Free Healthcare, Free Money, etc.” These same clowns also cry out, “Handouts! Reparations! Racism! White Privilege! The man! The system!” The reason they exist is because someone, somewhere continues to give them their way. They blame everything and everyone except self. They disregard and ignore individual responsibility because the reality is these liberals don’t really want to work for these things. “It’s too hard.” They just want someone to serve them and miraculously just give it to them.
Liberals (Brats) are extremely insecure, impatient, easily offended, hostile, and intolerant. Liberals have a strong sense of entitlement and they demand appeasement. Liberals are disturbingly disingenuous and overtly dishonest. Liberals use bully-tactics, which is a form of terrorism, to get their way. They perpetuate and thrive on the victim-mentality. They’re basically socialists. Remember the mantra, “You didn’t build that”? That cry is the cousin of, “Everyone gets a trophy.” “You didn’t build that,” is code for “Your hard work and individual effort makes me look and feel bad.” (This is just another tactic of theirs — to shift blame and put a guilt-trip on you, instead of honestly and critically correcting themselves.)
All of this brat/liberal behavior can be summed up in one word. Flesh. Galatians 5:19-21 describes the works, and fruits, of the flesh.
— “It is obvious what kind of life develops out of trying to get your own way all the time: repetitive, loveless, cheap sxx; a stinking accumulation of mental and emotional garbage; frenzied and joyless grabs for happiness; trinket gods; magic-show religion; paranoid loneliness; cutthroat competition; all-consuming-yet-never-satisfied wants; a brutal temper; an impotence to love or be loved; divided homes and divided lives; small-minded and lopsided pursuits; the vicious habit of depersonalizing everyone into a rival; uncontrolled and uncontrollable addictions; ugly parodies of community. I could go on. This isn’t the first time I have warned you, you know. If you use your freedom this way, you will not inherit God’s kingdom.” (Gal 5:19-21 Message)
Now, more that ever, brats/liberals need to be confronted and corrected. Sure, they’re going to get their feelings hurt. Sure, they’re going to get angry. Sure, they’re going to throw a hissy fit. So what! Brats are still the minority and they’re wrong, so stop giving in to them — at all levels of society (home, communities, cities, states, nations, FB, media, etc.). When you give in to liberals, you validate them and you reward their efforts. So what do you think they’re going to do the next time they want their way?
Don’t lower the standards! Don’t hire the brat! Forget about political correctness! Ignore the brat, if you have to! But, by all means, stand up to them and speak out! It’s okay to tell them, “No!” Whatever you do, do not reward their behavior with appeasement. Make them work. Hard. Most people don’t like to work — believe me, I know — but work still needs to be done. Hard work makes you feel good about yourself because it fosters pride and a sense of accomplishment. Hard work reveals what we are capable of. And, when you discover what you’re capable of, you become independent, which is contrary to the goals of Big Government, which is dependence upon their system, i.e. jobs, welfare, housing, healthcare, etc.
Our Founding Fathers knew this, and although not perfect, they understood freedom. (And by the way, if your thoughts about America continuously gravitate towards criticism, condemnation, shame, and blame, you’re an idiot and you’ve been brainwashed by liberals and progressives. Of all the history, the opportunities, and the freedom that America provides, but you constantly complain about our origins and our evils, you’re a mutton-head, a liberal zombie, and the very brat I’ve been describing. If America is so bad, leave. But I’d certainly love to know where else on this planet you can go and have it so good. Instead of choosing to focus on America’s faults, try focusing on America’s perfections. Okay, off my soapbox.) Today, many ignorantly believe that freedom is “the ability to do what I want, when I want.” That is NOT freedom! That definition describes flesh! Truly, if we all started doing what we want, when we wanted to, we’d all probably be locked up. True freedom can be defined as “the ability to do the right thing,” and understanding right begins with the Word of God. Thomas Jefferson is often credited with, “The price of liberty (freedom) is eternal vigilance.” Bottom line, freedom requires plain, hard work. Now, get to work!
